Teaching Philosophy
Music and the performing arts should be accessible to everyone— at any age or stage of life. I believe learning music should be an inspiring, creative journey that nurtures confidence and self-expression. While I provide strong technical training, my focus is on helping students enjoy the process of making or creating music, not just the end result.
Having grown up in Hong Kong, I’ve seen how music performance can become repetitive or mechanical. My goal is to offer an alternative: lessons that encourage curiosity, creativity, and a genuine love for playing, whether students are preparing for exams, performing on stage, or simply discovering music for personal fulfillment.
MY EXPERIENCE
Founder, Vice President & Music Director
XTRAMENTAL | Hong Kong | 2017–Present
Founded XTRAMENTAL, a non-profit theatre in Hong Kong dedicated to educating teenagers in stagecraft, performing arts, and music.
Composer and Music Director for original musicals created for teenagers, including school-commissioned productions.
Directed Arts-in-School programs, bringing theatre and music education into local schools.
Taught music classes and introductory stage management courses, giving students practical experience in both performance and backstage production.
